However, emojis fail to add any individuality, thereby, making them less personal. A new emoji keyboard, called Mirror Emoji Keyboard, is here to change this by giving you a personal emoji that can be used for messaging as well as social media. Launched by San Francisco-based startup, Mirror AI, the personalized emoji keyboard uses facial recognition by scanning selfies to instantly create custom emojis. Let’s explore the Mirror Emoji Keyboard in detail.
How to Use Mirror Emoji Keyboard
When you install the app and open it for the first time, it will ask you to register your selfie. Make sure to take the selfie under good lights and look directly into the camera for better results. Also, try to fit your face inside the blue circle. At this point, the app will use the AI and scan your selfie to create a custom emoji. If you’re not happy with emoji, the app gives you the ability to edit it. I was given an option to change the style of my hair and my glasses. Select the options that represent you in the best way and you’re ready to use them. The mobile app will generate hundreds of custom emojis that represent different expressions that can be used under various circumstances. Now that you have your own custom emoji, you can use it on Snapchat, Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, iMessage, and other messaging services. You can either set up a keyboard or just long press on the emoji and select the app where you want to use it.
User Interface and Performance
The Mirror AI app has a list of scenarios and use cases where you can include these custom emojis. Tap on the search tab at the bottom-left corner and select from a wide range of options like Hi, Thank You, Bye, Food, Travel and many more. The tabs will offer you a bunch of emojis that you can select and share as per the scenario. At present, there is an array of custom emojis ranging from Christmas, holidays, New Year, Star Wars, love, and so on. The user interface is sleek and easy to use. Sharing emojis via various platforms is also smooth without any glitches. You can update your selfie anytime and even add a friend’s selfie following the same steps. This app will then generate emojis with both the custom emojis together under various circumstances.
Verdict
The generation of emojis after scanning your selfie is pretty fast. However, I think the app can improve its facial recognition engine to create emojis that will better represent the user.
